The BJP leaders say it is a glimpse of 2019 Lok Sabha elections, while Congress spokespersons are claiming a win in the rise in seat count.Leads are in for all of Gujarat’s 182 seats and the BJP is now closing on its 2012 target of 115 seats.
The surprise show, however, comes from the Congress. As per trends, the BJP is leading+winning in 99 seats in Gujarat, while the Congress is ahead in 80.
Chief Minister Vijay Rupani is on course to win Rajkot West by a big margin, and so is Deputy CM Nitin Patel in Mehsana. Dalit activist Jignesh Mevani has scored his maiden election victory from Vadgam.
The BJP has been ruling in Gujarat for the last two decades and a win today will be significant for them ahead of the 2019 general elections.
While it is neck and neck in Gujarat, the BJP has extended its lead over the Congress in Himachal Pradesh.Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani, Dalit leader Alpesh Thakor and Patidar leader Jignesh Mevani have all won their seats in the Gujarat Assembly election.
While Vijay Rupani won from Rajkot West, Alpesh Thakor won from Radhanpur and Jignesh Mevani won from Vadgam.
